In the age in India where all the sports are on a rise; for the first time cricket feels like another sport, as NBA fans in India have some great news to share. Albeit for 10 days, the Sacramento Kings have announced that they are signing the 7’5” Reno Bighorns player Sim Bhullar for a period of 10 days. This is the first time a player from India is a part of an NBA team.
Bhullar who is an intimidating figure standing at more than 7 feet weighs 360 pounds. Even though that makes his agility a bit less he is a great presence in the court for any team.
The owner of the Kings, Vivek Ranadive said that Sim would compete for a rooster spot in the month of August and that this is just the start of a brand of players coming into the game from a country where the games popularity seems to be growing ever so quickly.
Sim who rakes a highly rated 4 blocks per game in defense also averages 10.3 points a game 72.7 percent passing also averages 8.8 rebounds per game. These are the stats for a 39 game season for Big horns.
Though Sim is of Indian origin he is born in Toronto and a native of Canada. He, if signs for the Kings, will have around 8 games to prove his metal and be in contention for a contract in the seasons to come.
