Virat Kohli Pays His Tribute To 'Greatest-Ever' Usain Bolt 1

India captain Virat Kohli, once again, paid his tribute to legendary sprinter Usain Bolt who retired after participating in his last competitive race on Saturday night (August 5) at the IAAF World Athletics Championship in London on Saturday (August 5). The most successful and decorated track athlete of all time, who won every Olympic and world 100m and 200m since 2008 with the exception of the 100m at the 2011 Daegu world titles, Bolt finished third in his last race behind US duo Justin Gatlin and Christian Coleman. The defeat was his first in a global-championship 100m.

But despite the defeat, the world has showered lavish praise on the Jamaican and Kohli also followed suit on Sunday.

“He (Bolt) deserves it because there is no one greater than him and it was his last race. I also wished him because we both are Puma athletes. We have not seen a career like that in athletics and I don’t think that, going forward, these records will be broken soon,” Kohli said at the post-match conference after India’s win over Sri Lanka in the second Test on Sunday (August 6).

Prior to this, Kohli had posted a video on Twitter saying: “Hey, Usain! I know it’s your last race we are going to miss you a lot on the track. From me and everyone in the Puma family, we wish you all the very best for this one and all your future endeavours. If you ever wanna play cricket you know where to find me.”

India, meanwhile, wrapped up the three-match series against Sri Lanka with a massive win in the second Test at Colombo. The world number team, which was leading the series 1-0 after winning the series-opener, thrashed Dinesh Chandimal & Co. by an innings and 53 runs.
