The former Indian leg spinner was with the team during the ICC Champions Trophy. He was given an extension by the board for the tour to Windies but he decided to step down on June 20, just a day after India’s loss to Pakistan in the final of Champions Trophy. In his good bye note, he mentioned about not having a good rapport with skipper Virat Kohli and cited untenable relation with him as a reason for his exit. Kohli though did not comment on the matter.
Now the matter has come to an end and Indian team is currently in Sri Lanka to play a full fledged series against the hosts under new Head Coach Ravi Shastri – who shares a good rapport with the Indian skipper.
