Last night Chelsea defeated Stoke City by 2-1 but the game was a breath taking one. Stoke City stepped on the pitch with a completely different mindset and gave a hard time to Mourinho’s men. Overall it was an exciting and entertaining fixture and here are the ratings of Chelsea players in a thriller against Stoke.
Thibaut Courtois – 6.0/10
The Belgian was decent at time buts was laughably beaten by Charlie Adam’s wonder strike which turned out to be a disappointer.
Branislav Ivanovic – 6.7/10
Ivanovic’s performance was decent defensively he was pretty good and his presence was also felt in the attack.
Terry & Cahill – 7.8/10
The duo were pretty amazing as they showed great chemistry and were rock solid at the back. They made many match saving blocks, interceptions and clearances and were the major reason behind Chelsea’s rock soild back line.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 6.5/10
Azpilicueta’s performance was just average. He tried his best to contribute in both halves but attacking wise he was not very good. Defensively he was as good as always.
Nemanja Matic – 6.5/10
Matic was average too as he couldn’t rule the Stoke midfielders like he could have, but his passes were fruitful and some of his runs were really threatening.
Cesc Fabregas – 7.2/10
Fabregas was pretty handful as he cleverly won the penalty, initiated many attacks and he was involved in most of the attacking buildups.
Willian – 7.5/10
Willian was fantastic with his movements which were threatening and his coordination with other Chelsea players on the field was very good. Defensively he was sound too.
Oscar – 6.5/10
Oscar was on the pitch for just 45 minutes but the entire time he was good. His passes were great and also had a go at the goal a few times.
Eden Hazard – 8.5/10
The Belgian winger has again proved why he is the best young footballer on this planet by again giving a top notch performance. He was deadly the entire time and didn’t give a moment of peace to the Stoke defenders. He initiated multiple Chelsea attacks and also helped out in defense. The chap ended the game with 1 goal and 1 assist.
Loic Remy – 7.7/10
Loic Remy was very impressive as he netted the much needed winner and e was great the entire time.
Substitutes
Diego Costa – NA
Played for just 10 minutes so too less to rate.
Didier Drogba – 6.0/10
Had very little work to do on the field but his hold up play was good.
Juan Cuadrado – 6/10
Just like Drogba even Cuadrado had very little work to do but he helped Chelsea to initiate some attacks on a few occasions.
