Liverpool defender Andreas Dossena has been arrested under the suspicion of shoplifting at Harrods. Doseena, who currently plays for the league two side Leyton Orient was taken to the West London Police Station after the world-famous store Harrods had filed a complaint against the Italian.
Metropolitan Police confirmed the news to the media and also said that Andreas Dossena was arrested with his 31-year old Girl Friend, who was involved in the act of shoplifting as well. The Police was called at the Knightsbrodge department store near Brompton road and the duo were arrested.
In the recent development on the story, it has been confirmed that Dossena and his girl friend have been granted the bail for now pending further enquiries. Dossena had signed for Liverpool in the year 2008 and went on to represent the club for 33 games and scored 2 goals. Dossena’s goals came against Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Despite his blockbuster goals, Dossena’s Liverpool career never took off and the Italian fled to Napoli a year later after his memorable goal against Man United. While playing for Napoli, Dossena came back to take on Liverpool at Anfield and his back pass gifted Steevn Gerrard an easy equalizer in the Europa League.
After Napoli, it was Palermo for the Italian defender but Palermo got relegated the year he joined them. After a brief 7-game spell with Sunderland under Paolo Di Canio, Dossena was released in November 2014 and since then he has been playing for the League two side Leyont Orient. Dossena’s act of shoplifting has landed both him and the club in severe Public barrage.
So far, neither Dossena or Leyont Orient have made any official statements. The club is expected to address its fans later today to condemn the act of shoplifting by Andreas Dossena which caused the arrest of player and his girl friend.
