Arsenal have targeted FC Porto’ star Yacine Brahimi as their key midfield target for the summer transfer window. The Algerian has a £33 million buy-out clause to his current contract and source close to Arsenal believe that the club is ready to meet the buy-out clause.
Brahimi has been targeted by the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham but Arsene Wenger is keen to bring the Porto star at Emirates to lead his midfield for next season.
Arsenal are in the phase of going over a quiet revolution at the club with the likes of Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta all rumoured to leave the club next season. Keeping all the possible exits in mind, Arsene Wenger wants to bring in players who can add value and give 4-5 successful seasons to the club.
Brahimi was named the African player of the year last season while his time with Granada. Since his move to Porto, he has seen his stocks rise higher and higher. Brahimi will play the Champions League quarter final this season, the competition where he has made quite a name for himself.
Brahimi has scored 5 times in the competition including a hat-trick against Bate Barisov. Brahimi has scored 11 goals in total this season in just 29 appearances. Such performances have attracted Arsenal’s interest in the player and the club are willing to meet the £33 million buy-out clause attached to his contract and bring him to Emirates next season.
