Parupali Kasyap loses in the semi finals of Singapore Open Super Series 1

Parupalli Kashyap lost to Hu Yun in three sets 22-20,11-21, 14-21 in the semi finals of Singapore Open Super Series just few moments ago. It was an excellent performance by both players but Kashyap failed to capitalize on the start that he got.

In the first set P Kashyap got off to good start taking the first point. Then Kashyap took a 3-1 lead. After that Kashyap played some excellent badminton to take 9-4 lead. At the interval it was 11-4 in favor of Kashyap. After the interval Hu Yun took 2 successive points to make 7-13. Kashyap was leading 15-7 but Hu Yun took 4 successive points to make it 12-15. After that both of the players took alternate points till 19-15 in favor of Kashyap. After that Hu Yun made took 4 successive points to equal the score at 19-19. Then both the players were equal at 20-20 before Kashyap took 2 points to take the first set 22-20.

In the second set Hu Yun began off to great start taking a 3-1 lead. Hu Yun played some excellent badminton and never allowed Kashyap to make comeback in the game. Hu Yun from 3-1 went to a 9-4 lead. At the interval it was 11-4 in favor of Hu Yun. Kashyap at 11-5 called for a review for in but the umpire decision stood as out and Hu Yun took a 12-5 lead. Hu Yun from 15-9 went to 18-9 lead. Hu Yun won the second set 21-11.

In the deciding set Hu Yun took the first point. Kashayp equaled the score at 1-1. Hu Yun took a 4-1 lead. Hu Yun was great at the net but Kashyap too committed a lot of mistakes. At the interval it was 11-4 in favor of Hu Yun. After the interval both players took alternate points till 13-7 in favor of Hu Yun. Kashyap tried to make comeback in the game but both players took alternate points again till 20-14. Hu Yun won the third set 21-14.

It was a great tournament for Kashayp who defeated the world number 4 but needs to work on his mental fitness.
