Manchester United are ready to offer £5million to Dutch striker Robin van Persie to quit the club this summer.

The 31-year old striker has just returned to training after an injury spell and has only 14 months left in his current £250,000-a-week contract which is set to expire in June 2016. Manchester United officials are willing to pay half of £10million loyalty bonus that they promised when they lured the striker away from Arsenal back in 2012.

It is also understood that Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in the striker’s services and the Red Devils are ready to sell the striker in a cut-price deal. Robin Van Persie will have to accept a contract with pay cut as Italian clubs will not pay as handsomely as Manchester United and he is in the final stages of his career.

Manchester United want to sell the striker to create space for new targets that they want to sign this summer. It is already reported that Manchester United are interested in PSG’s Edison Cavani and PSV’s Memphis Depay.

With strikers like Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao and Javier Hernandez expected to leave the club this summer, there will be lot of money to sign new players for Manchester United and to strengthen their side as they look for Champions League next season.
