Shikhar Dhawan was seen with an unusual celebration when he reached the century in the first innings of the recently-concluded third Test against Sri Lanka at Pallekele.
The dashing batsman known for twirling his moustache after reaching milestones on cricket field was seen giving the ‘V’ sign after completing his ton. Soon, Hardik Pandya was also seen celebrating his maiden Test hundred in a similar fashion.
Dhawan’s opening partner KL Rahul was also spotted giving the ‘V’ sign when the duo was leaving the field during the lunch session on the first morning. Later, on social media, they termed it as ‘Daddy D’ pose and as expected, the fans became desperate to know the reason behind the celebration.

Well, during an interview with bcci.tv, Rahul and Pandya spilled some beans but refrained from revealing too much. The duo asked each other some really funny questions and the fans are bound to get entertained.
“We’ve been asked this question and a lot of people have been commenting about our celebration. It is an inside joke that we cannot share. It is just basically something which me, him (Hardik) and Shikhar were talking about a day before this match at the dinner table,” Rahul said.
“And Daddy D is basically us youngsters reminding Shikhar how old he is,” he added.
“That’s it from Pallekele, peace out,” Hardik concluded.

Prior to talking about the celebration, Pandya also asked Rahul the reason behind his quirky hairstyle.
“I felt Sri Lanka was really hot and humid that’s why I trimmed my hair, but I thought it was boring. To the viewers, we are young boys and we like to experiment with our hair and with our style. But it doesn’t affect us in any way with our performance on the field. We go out there and give it our best,” Rahul said.
