After a successful Test series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, Mohammed Shami spent some quality time with his family and posted a picture with his wife and daughter on Twitter.

Shami had a major contribution to the team’s victory in the final Test match which the visitors won by a margin of an innings and 171 runs.

India cleans swept Sri Lanka for the first time at their home. Mohammed Shami-led the Indian bowling department along with Umesh Yadav and got crucial breakthroughs at regular intervals. Shami swung the new ball and the reversed the old one, leaving the Lankan batsmen clueless during the three match Test series.

Later, he posted a picture with his wife Hasin Jahan and daughter Aaira before leaving for home, as he and his bowling partner Umesh Yadav have been rested for the One-Day series. He wished his teammates good luck for the upcoming limited over series.

The Indian team is set to play five One-Day Internationals followed by a lone T20I. The spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja has also been rested from the limited-overs squad. The responsibility of spearheading the fast bowling attack will now be on Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.

After the end of the third Test match, the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli was in all praises for the fast bowler and even went on to say that Shami is currently amongst the top three bowlers in the world. He said

“I certainly rate Shami among the world’s top three fast bowlers for sure. Because of his wicket-taking ability and the kind of impact he has on games. When he makes up his mind to come out and give it his 120 percent, then he can bowl like this – 145, 140 clicks on a regular basis and troubling the batsmen.”

He also added that Shami must pay focus on his fitness to become a world class bowler.

“It is not just reckless bowling. So he is a quality bowler. He has all the ingredients of becoming a consistent world-class bowler, provided the fitness factor can be maintained and hopefully he is not hampered with any more injuries. He is a very valuable bowler for us and when he is on the song, it’s delightful to watch. We all really enjoy standing on the field and watching him bowl like that. He is very special,”
