Yesterday’s match between the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals being played at Ahemdabad was surely expected to put up a good show and they rightly did. Mumbai Indians had lost both their matches in IPL 8 so far and Royals had won both, so we knew with who the momentum was but the previous record of the Indians against Royals 9:5 raised some hope of MI registering their 1st win, but the spirited RR team had something else in mind.

MI batted first and got off to one of the worst starts possible, Finch got injured in the match whereas Harbhajan couldn’t even make it to the XI because of his injury. MI was brought down to 60 odd runs at the loss of 4 wickets at the end of 13 overs. But Pollard and Anderson were on the crease and with two big hitters still out there, anything could happen and the worst happened for RR as those two took the score 160 odd by the end of 20th over, making an amazing comeback.

But MI bowlers could make no impact whatsoever and RR chased down the target easily. In the midst of this match we had some amazing numbers that were a part of this match and we bring them all to you, only on SPORTZWIKI:

6 teams and still counting: Parthiv Patel playing for Mumbai Indians this season has been a part of 6 franchises so far in 8 seasons of IPL. He began with CSK (2008-10), then KTK in 2011, DC in 2012, SRH in 2013, RCB in 2014 and now MI in 2015.

Closing in is Finch: If Parthiv has 6 teams to his name, Finch is closely behind him with 5. He has played for RR, DD, PWI, SRH and now MI in IPL. Parthiv Patel and Aaron Finch are the only two players to represent 5 or more Franchises.

Rohit Sharma on zero role: After playing a brilliant knock of 98 in first match of IPL, Rohit Sharma has then recorded 2 ducks in the next two matches. First time in his IPL career this has happened.

Six is the way to go: Keiron Pollard now has more sixes in his T20 career than fours. He has hit 338 sixes and 334 boundaries.

Knocking the death over’s: MI scored 81 runs in the last 5 over’. Highest by MI in IPL, their previous best was 77 vs RCB.

This is it for today, but we will keep brining such amazing numbers to you after every match, and to stay updated all you need to do is keep following SPORTZWIKI.
