Arsenal and Liverpool have been involved in multiple transfer battles for next season, one of those is over Manchester City’s James Milner. According to The Sun, Arsenal are set to win this particular transfer battle with Milner deciding to join the Gunners next season ahead of Liverpool.
James Milner will be available on a free-signing this summer as his contract is due to expire at the end of this season and the England International is keen to force a move away from the Etihad stadium which has shortened his playing time on the pitch.
If Arsenal manages to force the move for the versatile Man City player, it will be one of the most astonishing transfer coups in Premier League’s history.
Milner is more than a handy player for any Premier League side at the moment, but he has found it tough to fit to Manuel Pellegrini’s rigid 4-4-2 formation. Milner usually plays when City are playing with just one man up front.
Milner’s biggest strengths are his robust style of play with decisive crossings coupled with great defensive work-rate. Arsenal have many flair players in their ranks right now including Mesur Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud. Given their attacking nature of squad, someone like James Milner would be an ideal signing for the Gunners.
