The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has announced their 35-members probable squad for the upcoming domestic season.
The squad includes regulars likes Manoj Tiwary, Ashok Dinda, and Wriddhiman Saha. Mohammad Shami has also been given a place in the team, despite a clear indication that he will not play the upcoming season.
The right-handed pacer will be busy with his commitments and is expected to be with the team for all the series that Virat Kohli-led side will play.

The home season will kick-off from a limited-overs against Australia followed by a series against New Zealand and then a full-fledged series against Sri Lanka. Following that, India will tour South Africa and then to Sri Lanka.
In all, Shami will be absent for the whole season, and Bengal will miss the services of their star pacer all throughout.
Surprisingly, the selectors have named Pragyan Ojha in the probable squad. He had earlier confirmed his move to his native state Hyderabad after two seasons with Bengal, but it has been learnt that he is yet to receive NOC from CAB.
The move to name Ojha in the squad has made the scenario interesting, as he is keen to play for Hyderabad, whereas, even before the two months of the season, he is yet to get confirmation from Bengal. Ojha has not been included in Hyderabad side for the Moin-Ud-Dowlah Gold Cup, where Ambati Rayudu has been named as skipper of Hyderabad.

Ojha, Hyderabad Cricket Association and CAB are yet to comment on this move to include the spinner in the probable squad. The upcoming domestic season will kick off on October 6 with the start of Ranji Trophy. There were hopes that Duleep Trophy might mark the start to the domestic season, but the tournament has not been given space in the domestic schedule, which has resulted in confusion.
