If cricket fans across the world are missing Matthew Hayden then their wait might get over in few years as another Hayden is on his way to take the world by storm.
Hayden is one of the finest openers to have graced the game and his son, Joshua, is also showing promising signs as he impressed with a fine knock from top of the order during an Under-13 game in Brisbane.
The former Australia opener took to Twitter to express his pride over his son’s brilliant performance. Hayden junior scored a career-high 71 for Wynnum-Manly against South Junior Heat in Brisbane. Joshua also impressed with his bowling, taking 2 for 27 from eight overs but unfortunately, his efforts came in a losing cause.
But despite that, the swashbuckling opener, who had represented Australia in 103 Tests and won two World Cups during his illustrious career, said watching his son performing well on the cricket field was an irreplaceable experience.

“May have had a chance to raise the bat a few times but nothing can replace how proud I was of our son today,” Hayden tweeted.
