Mohammad Hafeez cleared to bowl again in international cricket

 

 

According to bowling test conducted in Chennai, Muhammad Hafeez has cleared his bowling action. International Cricket Council (ICC) notified Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the same after which former vice=captain Tweeted about results. Hafeez seemed pretty excited and chuffed up about it as he went on to thank PCB and his family especially wife.  

 

In a media release ICC stated: “The International Cricket Council (ICC) today can confirm that following remedial work and retests, the bowling actions of Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez and Javeria Khan (Pakistan woman’s cricketer) have been found to be legal, and the players can now resume bowling in international cricket. At the retests, it was revealed that the amount of elbow extensions in both the off-spinners’ bowling actions for all their deliveries bowled were within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC regulations for the review of bowlers reported with suspected illegal bowling actions.”

Hafeez was reported in November 2014 after the first Test match between Pakistan New Zealand in Abu Dhabi. Hafeez had failed the initial test, which was performed later that month. Two on-field umpires in the Test match were Rambo Martinesz of Sri Lanka and Rod Tucker of Australia. Meanwhile, Match referee on duty in first Test was Andy Pycroft of Zimbabwe. 

The off-spinner, who has taken 211 international wickets across the 3 formats, can now resume his duties as a bowler.
