Cricket Academy of Pathans to Train Two north Kashmir Players 1

The Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) decided to train two immensely talented rookie cricketers from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir state at their newly launched cricket academy in Noida.

The move was revealed by news wire IANS after Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan have collaborated with Indian Army following the results of trials.

“Kids were selected by the Indian army for which they had conducted trials at Kupwara district of J&K,” Irfan was quoted as saying by IANS.

After conducting a camp in the frontier district which is around 87 kilometers from summer capital Srinagar, Indian Army felicitated two players among other 100 cricketing aspirants, as the state has already produced talented players like Parvez Rasool, Samiullah Beigh and Abdul Qayoom Bhagaw in the recent past.

The 20-year Shahrukh Hussain and 18-year-old Danish Qadir are the two highly-gifted players, who went on to win the trials battle after impressing the army delegation.

“Out of 100 cricket enthusiasts, two were selected by the Indian Army for training under CAP,” Irfan added.

The 32-year-old Baroda-born fast bowling allrounder Irfan has effusively praised the efforts of the army while vowing the Institute for coaching would give its best, in a bid to encourage youngsters in the gentleman’s game.

“We are always there to support and promote cricket. It is a very noble move by the Indian Army to support these kids,” Irfan remarked.

The left-arm fast bowler Irfan, who has been overlooked for the national set-up after a dip in his form, stated the two cricketers from Kashmir would undergo different training after being enrolled in the academy in Uttar Pradesh.

“These kids have just enrolled in the academy. They would be going through the preliminary module of CAP and after completing the preliminary module they would advance to the other levels of CAP modules,” Irfan maintained.

The CAP has further become an instant hit in the recent past and has eventually been a major fascination for the talented youngsters.

Irfan and Yusuf are yet to retire from International cricket, but they have had already launched a coaching institute to nurse the raw talent in different states of the country, as they are aiming to extend academies to other states in the coming years.

It’s pertinent to mention, the CAP Foundation has inducted the curriculum modules to improve the standard of coaching, as Pathan brothers have had already availed the services of former Australian Greg Chappell as a chief mentor followed by Cameron Tradell and the management further included top-notch Australian coaches.

Currently, CAP, which is partnered with Pitch Vision cricket technology, has so far installed six centers to rope in schools, players, franchises, and coaches under one roof.
