One of the best player to have played for the Black caps, Daniel Vettori who is now working as a coaching staff for the team from Bangalore has praised Indian offie Ravichandran Ashwin and termed his as exceptional.

Vettori felt that Ashwin who has played a lot of cricket already for India is one of the few people who have adjusted themselves really well after the change in rules in different formats and this made him a very exceptional bowler.

Vettori who was a left arm orthodox felt that bowlers like Ashwin and Tahir from South Africa who had a good time even in conditions like Australia and in grounds like in New Zealand are examples that conventional spin is still a part of cricket even after the vast changes the sport has gone through.

He also felt that the guidelines about the flex of the arm which has ruled out some spinners is a bit harsh but felt that the art of spin bowling is still very much alive.

When asked about his experience of test cricket Vettori said that Rahul Dravid was the hardest batsmen to bowl to and felt that Dravid could pick the length really quickly and play forward or back accordingly thus making the bowler helpless.
