Manish Pandey Likely To Be Included In The Playing XI For The Second ODI 1

The Story

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has openly declared that he will opt for more experiments when India takes on Sri Lanka in the second ODI at the Pallekelle. After picking the likes of Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal in the opening ODI, Kohli may rest one of his settled batsmen to make space for Manish Pandey in the hyper competitive batting order.

“You try things and lose, and people will say that it shouldn’t have been done. But we should be ready to embrace challenges and ready to take risks… ready to even lose a few games while trying out something,”

Possibility of Manish Pandey In The XI Very High

Manish Pandey was included in the squad after a splendid show during the “A” tour of South Africa. The right hander has been clearly one of the most talented names in India who has been deprived of regular chances to play at the international level for India.

His commitment has been unquestionable, his fitness arguably better than Kohli and his batting capabilities firmly tried tested. His luck, however, has been dry and has played a saddening role in his international career until now.

So far, he has capitalized on every opportunity that has come by his way but it has not been enough to help him cement his place in the limited overs.

Warming up for the challenge

It may be a subtle hint or a straightway indication as Pandey was seen engaged in a lengthy session in the nets just a day ahead of the second ODI has made people very excited for him. Kohli’s approach for this series and Pandey’s highly dependable talent may see India walk in with a change in the top order.

BCCI’s twitter handle shared a glimpse of the session today.
