Everton skipper Phil Jagielka has questioned Wayne Rooney’s performances as a Manchester United player whenever he plays against Everton at Goodison Park.
Rooney was brought by Sir Alex Ferguson from Everton but it is a well-known fact that Rooney still loves Everton and Jagielka believes that it is the main reason why Rooney has filed to do well against Everton while playing at Goodison.
Since his transfer to Manchester United, Rooney has come back to Goodison on 10 occasions and has only scored 2 goals. Jagielka believes, Rooney is still connected with the club and cars about the results for the Mersyside and he is never at his best while playingat Goodison.
Speaking to Daily express, Jagielka said:
“It’s difficult for Wayne,” said Jagielka told the Daily Express. “You can imagine being the age he was and him playing for the team he supported and then the big move to United.
“I’m sure he said a few things and did a few things as a young lad just to defend himself.
“I speak to him all the time and he’s always keen to know how we have got on – he’s still a big Evertonian.
“Obviously he has an affiliation with Manchester United, he has been there a long time, he’s the captain now, so you understand that – but he still loves the club.”
We can find some sense to Jagielka’s remarks as Rooney was seen off-color yet again as the England captain failed to have any impact on the Sunday’s game against Everton despite playing in his preferred role as the striker.
