Not long after the PFA’s team of the year was announced, Jose Mourinho was quick to jump in with his opinion where the Portuguese manager claimed that the entire team should have been made up of Chelsea stars.

Mourinho’s men have been only beaten twice this season, by Newcastle and Tottenham. Against the big guns (current top 4) of the league this season, Chelsea have gone without a defeat as well.

So the question arises here is that, did Chelsea’s entire XI really deserve to feature in the PFA’s team of the year?

We at Sportzwiki have come up with a combined Premier League XI which would easily beat Chelsea. We believe that our elected side would be good enough to beat the champions elect this season and would put a break on Mourinho’s cheeky claim of being the absolute best in the league and being above any other collective group of players this season.

Sportzwiki’s featured Premier League combined XI to beat Chelsea:

Combined EPL XI to beat Chelsea - De Gea, Rooney, Carrick, Alexis all included 1

There were straight forward choices for David De Gea, Ryan Bertrand, Alexis Sanchez and Harry Kane as these 4 players featured in PFA’s team of the year as well. We have opted for 7 different players to make up the combined Premier League XI which would easily beat Chelsea. Those 7 players take the place of 6 Chelsea players in PFA’s TOTY and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.

Starting with central defense, we have gone for the no-nonsense defenders Crystal Palace’s Scot Dann and Southampton’s Jose Fonte. Dann and Fonte have been inspirational for their sides in leading their teams to have one of the shrewdest defenses in the league this season.

Full back position has been dominated by the Southampton stars Nathaniel Clyne and Ryan Bertrand. The two young guns are the finest players in the premier league who will go on to the bigger and better things in future.

Midfield duties have been shared by the prolific Michael Carrick and dynamic Jordan Henderson. In front of them we have placed the creative trio of Wayne Rooney, David Silva and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez. These three players will do more than enough to feed our lone striker Harry Kane who won the PFA’s Young player of the year award this time.

We believe that this combined Premier League XI is good enough to beat Chelsea any given day. Do you agree with us? Do let us know by tweeting at @shashimanunited.
