In a rather bizarre incident, Arsenal have banned one of the most promising youngster Maitland-Niles from the training ground while the club forced an arrest to the mother of Maitland-Niles after reports of an assault appeared last month.

Maitland-Niles has impressed everyone at the club with his development and as a result of that, the 17-year-old has already played 3 times for the senior Arsenal squad and in the process, Maitland-Niles became the youngest Arsenal player to play in the Champions League ever.

Maitland-Niles made his Champions League debut in the win against Galatasaray earlier in the season. The youngster has also featured in 1 Premier League and 1 FA Cup game. The issue occurred when the player’s mother met with Arsenal’s chief transfer negotiator, Dick Law and her son’s agent last month to discuss Maitland-Niles’s progress at the club.

It is believed that, the conversation turned in to a confrontation with reports of Dick Law and the agent getting hurt by the player’s mother. Following the ugly spat, the woman was arrested by the Police, later to be released without any further action against her.

Arsenal banned Maitland-Niles from the training ground for almost a month. The player returned to play in the Under-21 game last week against Aston Villa where his mother created another scene by shouting out aloud threating to pull her son out of the game.

Police were again called and Niles’s mother had to be pushed out of the premises. Since then, Police have issued a warning to her and warned off further action to be taken against her. So far the  player and Arsenal football club are yet to comment on the story.
