Liverpool football club are planning to keep Raheem Sterling on his current £35,000-a-week contract next season rather than to sell him. The young winger has been adamant about not discussing his contract extension with Liverpool and the club officials are getting frustrated with the player’s attitude.
Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Sterling signing his contract or not will have no implication on his stay or exit at the club. Rodgers claimed that, Sterling will remain at the club regardless of his contract situation. Liverpool are ready to play the hardball with the player and keep him on his £35k-a-week contract next season.
As per the club sources, Sterling has been offered a £100k-a-week contract but the player is refusing to sign anything less than £1,80,000-a-week. Rivals Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have been the clubs credited with an interest in the player and will make a move for the player if Liverpool decide to sell Raheem Sterling.
Raheem Sterling has been at the center of all criticism at Liverpool this season. His leaked pictures where the youngster is seen holding a sheesha pipe with his friends angered the club officials and the fans and his contract tantrums are getting bigger and bigger each month.
Sterling’s contract expires in 2017 and the only reason he is determined to move away from Anfield is his lack of belief in club’s ambition for the upcoming seasons. Liverpool have just 3 months to either convince Sterling to sign his contract extension or lose him on a free in 2017.
