Former Manchester United mid-fielder Paul Scholes believes that the Red Devils should not make a bid for Juventus’ star mid-fielder in the summer transfer window.

Pogba left Manchester United for free to Italian giants Juventus back in 2012 and have arguably become the best defensive mid-fielder in the world today.

Clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all interested in the services of the mid-fielder and are ready to pay hefty sum to land the young talent.

The French international have improved so much over the last three years that Manchester United regret letting the player leave and want to re-sign him in the summer transfer window this season.

However, Paul Scholes says: “As for United, I don’t feel they should go back to sign Pogba for the sums being talked about having lost him for the compensation payment.

“I understand that Chelsea did the same when they bought back Nemanja Matic from Benfica, but his fee was nothing like the numbers quoted for Pogba. It would feel wrong to me.”

Pogba is rated over £60 million and given Juventus’ strong financial situation they will not let Pogba leave for anything less as the mid-fielder is only 22 at the moment.

On another hand, Paul Scholes may be right, as Manchester United are trying to re-build their squad and paying such huge amount for a single player will not be good business as they have many transfer targets.

Signing a player like Ilkay Gungoan will be a good option as he is just 25 and willing to leave Dortmund this summer. Only time will say whether United will go all-out for the services of Pogba.
