With the IPL about to end within the next three weeks, the Indian fans are eagerly waiting for their next tour. The men in blue are set to lock horns with the Bangladesh in their own backyard post the IPL. Bangladesh off late has been in red hot form. The Tigers recently annihilated the Pakistanis and whitewashed them in the ODIs. In the first test too, the Tigers staged a remarkable comeback to save the game. Their World Cup campaign was phenomenal as well, as they managed to reach the quarter finals. Ironically, they were beaten in the quarter final by India. The Bangla tigers would be itching to avenge that quarter final loss.
The Indians on the other hand last played as a unit against Australia in the World Cup semi final. Virat Kohli would finally want to register a Test win as the skipper after two attempts in Australia. The Indians last played Bangladesh in a bilateral series in 2014 in Bangladesh. The 3 match ODI series was won by the visitors by a margin of 2-0.
The Indians will begin their tour on the 10th of June. The one off test is scheduled to be played from the 10th to the 14th of June at Fatullah. Virat Kohli would surely want to commence this tour with a win as it will be his first win as India’s test skipper. The one off test match will be followed by a 3 match ODI series. The ODI’s will be played on 18th, 21st and 24th June. All the ODI’s will be played in Mirpur.
The Indians must be aware of the capability of the Bangladeshis. The Bangladeshis have found their way back in cricket after a horrible 2013. Since the later phase of 2014, they have been exceptional and have played very well.
It will be interesting to know if MS Dhoni plays or not. For the ODI’s he might well be rested. Only time will confirm that though.
