When Matthew Wade walked into bat during the second innings of the recently-concluded Test in Dhaka, the tension on the field was tantalizing. Chasing 265, Australia were cruising with David Warner leading the charge with a stunning hundred. The scoreboard was reading 158 for 2 before Shakib Al Hasan turned the match on its head by dismissing well-set duo David Warner (112) and Steve Smith (37) in quick succession to leave the visitors reeling at 171 for 4. The hosts made further inroads in the game when Taijul Islam sent back Peter Handscomb to reduce Australia to 187 for 5.
Enters Wade and the wicketkeeper-batsman once again failed to prove himself on the subcontinent pitches as he could score only 4. However, his exit from the field was not as quiet as his performance with the bat as he was involved in a heated exchange with Tamim Iqbal before the umpires intervene to pacify. But as Wade was walking out of the ground, Tamim was seen waving his palm, signaling the Australian batsman to leave the field.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh defeated Australia by 20 runs to not only go 1-0 up in the 2-Test series but also register its first-ever Test win over the team from Down Under in 5 attempts. After Warner’s dismissal, Australia kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were all out for 244.
