Over the years, cricket has seen a fair share of upsets and defeats of top notch teams against minnows. However, in the recent past; the consistency of low ranked teams against big teams has undoubtedly helped cricket.
It is a known fact that cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties and sometimes the low ranked teams come heavily against their much-fancied opponents but to do it consistently or over a series is a pretty big thing.
In the last few months, we have seen some big upsets which have left the cricketing fraternity shocked. Let us now recall some of the greatest upsets in 2017
When Pakistan beat India in the Champions Trophy final

It was a huge stage as the two arch-rivals were meeting the final of the ICC Champions Trophy. The stakes were high, but India was the overwhelming favorites to win the final having ousted Pakistan in the opening group game of the tournament. It was a great achievement by the lowly ranked Pakistan to reach the final at the first stage and later created history by annihilating the Men in Blue in the final.
After batting first, Pakistan posted a gigantic 339 on the board in their allotted 50 overs riding on a brilliant century by opener Fakhar Zaman who got a reprieve early on when Jasprit Bumrah had him caught behind but to his utter dismay he had overstepped and that turned the game on its head. India kept losing wickets at regular intervals as Mohammad Amir ran through the star studded top order; dismissing Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan in quick succession. Despite Hardik Pandya’s valiant attempt India lost the match by a huge margin.
