According to latest reports, Manchester United are lining up a bid for PSV midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum. The Red Devils have already secured Memphis Depay last week and are set to raid PSV Eindhoven for the second time for their captain.

The 24-year old is having an impressive season as PSV won Eredivise and is considered as one of the key transfer targets for the Red Devils this season. With Kevin Strootman being sidelined with serious injuries and his future remaining unclear, Louis van Gaal has turned his attention to Wijnaldum.

Like Depay, Wijnaldum made the World Cup shortlist and had a good World Cup under Louis van Gaal and the player remains thankful to van Gaal.

He recently said, “Of course I would like to work with him (Van Gaal) again. I worked really fine with him and he is a great man.”

“He gave me the opportunity to play in a World Cup after seven months out injured and I am thankful for that.”

With Paul Pogba valued at 60 million Euros by Juventus, Wijnaldum would be a better solution to their midfield problems as he can make useful contribution to both offense and defense.

Wijnaldum managed to score 18 goals in 44 appearances for PSV Eindhoven this season.
