On the occasion of teacher’s day, most of the sportsperson greeted their teachers, but shuttler PV Sindhu decided to wish his coach Pullela Gopichand differently from his Facebook handle. She listed out how her coach has made things hard for her.
The video went viral within a blink of an eye, but it also became an indirect opportunity to troll Team India skipper Virat Kohli. One of the users said that Kohli should watch that video. It should be noted that Ravi Shastri was recently elected as the head coach of the national team following Anil Kumble’s unceremonious exit from the post of the head coach.
Virat Kohli’s differences with Anil Kumble led to the resignation of the latter. In his farewell note, Kumble said that he was informed by the BCCI pretty recently that the captain had reservations with his coaching style and for the betterment of the team he would like to step down from his position and allow someone to take up the role with whom the captain is comfortable enough. This attitude also showed the humility of the legend who is the leading wicket taker for India in Tests.
Reports had also emerged that the captain-coach duo has stopped talking to each other since the series against England earlier in the year and from there on it kept worsening. It is learned that during the Champions Trophy final, Kumble had asked the captain to bat first if he wins the toss but Kohli decided otherwise and India ended up losing by a huge margin.
On the occasion of Teacher’s day, Kohli posted a tribute to the cricketers who played a major role in his life. The list included the names of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni and many others. As there was no Kumble’s name, many of his fans lashed out at Kohli for not taking his name. India had a tremendous one year under Kumble where they didn’t lose a single series barring the Champions Trophy.
