The T20 format is not format that the bowlers enjoy. With just 120 legal balls to score off, the batsmen take any chance they get to score runs and improve their team’s chances of winning. However bowlers who can outthink batsmen or bowl with perfection often prove hard to get away for runs. That has been the beauty of the IPL.
Here is a list of bowlers who have bowled the highest number of dot balls in IPL 2015 –
Sandeep Sharma
Opening the bowling for the KIXP ahead of Mitchell Johnson, Sharma has shown his ability to swing the ball on various occasions and has been able to keep the batsmen in check even in the death with his inch perfect yorkers. Sharma who has bowled 141 dot balls in this season heads the least with most number of dot balls.
N Coulter-Nile
Playing for the Delhi Daredevils who are not having a great campaign this year, Coulter-Nile has been one positive that the team has got from this season. Nathan who has had one of his best seasons has shown that good control on bowling can make it hard to score off. He has bowled 125 dot balls in this season and is second in the list.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Playing for the team from Sunrisers, Kumar has become a bowler who the team can rely upon with the new ball and also with the old ball in the death, Kumar who has already shown his strength in swinging the ball both ways has also shown that he can bowl yorkers at will. He has bowled 122 dot balls in this season and has helped his team reach a strong position in the fight for the play-offs.
Anureet Singh
Another youngster from the Indian domestic circuit who has shown that bowling in the right areas can make it hard for the batsmen to score big, Anureet Singh has had an excellent IPL and has become the main man for the KIXP in the death. He has been immaculate with his yorkers and has bowled 116 dot balls this season in various situations.
