Iconic Lord’s witnessed a historic moment on Friday (September 8) when England pace spearhead became the first Englishman to take 500 Test wickets in the second innings of the ongoing third Test against Windies. However, Anderson’s thunder was stolen for a while when Charles, a fan attending the match, fully cashed in on the wild weather and proposed his girlfriend, Sophie in front of the crowd.
The other spectators were cheering the couple before a ground official made the moment even more special by offering them a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
Here is the video of that special moment:

Meanwhile, Anderson entered the record books when he castled Kraigg Brathwaite on the final ball of his second over in the second innings. The fast-bowler entered the match with 497 wickets, and it seemed he would get in the first few hours on the opening day after he took the first two wickets to take his tally to 499. However, he went wicketless for the remainder of the innings as Ben Stokes destroyed the visitors from the other hand with a stunning spell of 6 for 22.
But Anderson did not have to wait long in the second innings as he clean bowled Brathwaite to become the first Englishman to reach the magical milestone of 500 Test wickets.

Anderson also became only the sixth bowler after Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, Glenn McGrath and Courtney Walsh to enter the elite 500 club.
Anderson’s 2-wicket haul, meanwhile, has left the series-decided finely poised. After England were bundled out for 194 in reply to Windies’ first innings total of 123, the visitors finished the day on 93 for 3 with Shai Hope batting on 35 and Roston Chase on 3.
