The Test at Lord’s against West Indies is bound to go down as a memorable affair for England. Apart from a series victory, it marked James Anderson’s entry into the elite 500 club, as the legend scored his way with 500 Test scalps. The dedication and hard work put by the Lancashire legend over the years has paid off for him and England alike.
In the second innings of the game against the West Indies, Anderson breathed fire as his career best figures of 7-42 decimated the visitors. Out of the seven wickets, Anderson castled four batsmen as his dominance was asserted at the home of cricket.
Relying mainly on his precision, Anderson frequently struck to ensure that the visitors didn’t set a high target for England, and the game remained in England’s grasp. Thanks to his performance, England eventually won the game by nine wickets.

Anderson won his fifth Man of the Series award and was pleased with his form.
“Playing a Test at Lord’s is always special,” said Anderson.
“My family and friends have been here, and to share the moment with guys I have played 100 Tests with is extra special. I didn’t think I would play nearly as much as I have. The team has been enjoyable one to play with. To get a series win like this makes it extra bit special.”
