West Indies, Pakistan and Bangladesh of these three teams only two can make it to ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2017 to be held in England. The Top 8 teams in ICC ODI RANKINGS as on 30th September 2015 will make it to the event in 2017.
West indies who are currently 7th(88) in the rankings is scheduled to play no odi’s before the deadline so they wholesomely depend on the performance of Pakistan and Bangladesh in the upcoming series.
Pakistan are placed 9th(87) in the table and they has series against Zimbabwe(3 ODI’s at home) and Srilanka(5 ODI’s at Srilanka). They must win both of the series to qualify for the champions trophy if they lose any one it becomes more difficult for them to make it. The Pakistan team is in the transition phase, their recent lose against Bangladesh shows their efficiency. The series against Zimbabwe is gonna ease for them but they must seal the series vs Srilanka otherwise the situation will become worse for them.
Now Bangladesh who surprised everyone with their performance in the World Cup by qualifying to the knockouts and have also beaten Pakistan at home. They are at 8th(88) in the rankings table. They have tough tours upcoming with India(3 ODI’s) and South Africa(3 ODI’s) both at home for them. Their recent form makes them more confidence and clinch the series against these two big nations. If they managed to win a single game each against India and South Africa they can make it to the Champions Trophy 2017 in England
We expect West Indies and Pakistan to go through, but the recent form of Bangladesh makes them more close to the mega event. Lets wait and watch !!!
