The Board of Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has shown enough confidence while seeing the potential return of gloveman Brendon Taylor and fast bowler Kyle Jarvis, as the duo has already announced the retirement from the international cricket for the national side in the recent past.

The report suggested ZC and its director Faisal Hasnain are in talks with the duo to make a return to the African side as the negotiations are going through its final phase.

“We are in discussions with both players, they are very much employed by their English counties at the moment,” Hasnain was quoted as saying by The Herald.

Pertinently, while approaching to the former players, Zimbabwe board has further understood the professionals are under contract with the two different clubs in the United Kingdom.

Managing Director for ZC Hasnain revealed he has an unwavering faith in both the players, as the Zimbabwe cricket body is working towards the betterment of gentleman’s game for the top-level international cricket.

“They are both reasonable, both sides conducting the negotiations in good faith, it’s work in progress,” Hasnain added.

However, Zimbabwe’s Government and administration including Minister of Sports Makhosini Hlongwane has been at the forefront – to push the world cricket governing body for considering the country as a host nation for the qualifiers of 2019 ICC World Cup.

“I did provide the guarantees, I am told the matter is resolved,” Hlongwane remarked.

In October, ICC has a scheduled board meeting as it’s expected the announcement will be made regarding the nation which would be able to host the 50-over Qualifying tournament next year.

However, ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar has already met Zimbabwean administrators and Vice-Presidents including Phelekezela Mphoko and Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The 28-year-old Harare-born pacer Jarvis, who has now been a part of Lancashire, announced his retirement in August 2013, in a bid to pursue Twenty20 career while playing for English county club.

In March 2015, Taylor followed suit and announced his international retirement to strike a three-year deal with English county club Nottinghamshire owing to the Kolpak deal.

“There are no deadlines, we have amicable chats. Whatever we do we have to be cognisant of the fact that they are contracted to their English counties,” Hasnain maintained.

On the other side, the latest development could take place at the end of September which would further see the closure of English county season.

While talking about the Kolpak deal, it was the agreement when the European Court of Justice in 2003, gave a verdict in favour of Slovak handball player, who was known as Maroš Kolpak.

While providing the detailed explanation, the citizens of multiple countries, who have signed for the EU Association Agreements, have the equal right under the constitution of EU which includes the ‘freedom of work,’ as players could further be the part of England’s international side while spending quality time in the domestic set-up.
