According to latest reports, Manchester City are looking overwhelming favorites to sign unsettled Liverpool star Raheem Sterling and will bid for the player once the transfer window opens.
However, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers expects the young winger to fulfill his contract but reports suggest that Manchester City are ahead of their rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
The 20-year old has two years left in his contract but wants to join another club as he is in search of silverware. Manchester City are ready to offer him a contract worth £120,000-per-week.
Liverpool manager wants the youngster to stay at Anfield for at least one more season as his contract with the Reds will expire in 2017.
“It’s difficult to comment on what others speak about. Any meetings that take place here will be dealt with internally,” Rodgers said. “Facts are simple. Raheem has two years left on contract and I expect him to see those two years through. I don’t see Raheem as being unhappy. I’m sure talks will take place over the summer.”
The player’s agent have recently said that Sterling will not sign a new deal which is worth £900,000-per-week which has increased the interest of all clubs interested in him.
