Australia’s fast bowling spearhead Pat Cummins faced a little glitch during his bowling today after he lost his balance during his bowling run-up.

The right arm fast bowler lost hold of the ball right in the middle of his action and went down on his knees due to misbalance forcing him to walk back all the way and bowl again.

The incident happened in the 5th over of the ongoing 2nd ODI at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The green wicket at the Eden’s has made batting a little difficult for the Indians are batting first winning the toss.

Fiery bouncer follows

The early help from the wicket surely got the Australian bowlers pumped up completely. The energy shown from the opening duo of Nathan Coulter – Nile and Pat Cummins was high.

But, the same intensity got better of Cummins. It was not embarrassing at all, but there was a risk of injury to the big man. The Australian setup is already waiting patiently for the recovery of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and James Pattinson – three of their most fearsome fast bowlers. With the Ashes closing in, the selectors would surely not be happy to deal with another injury problem.

Cummins, however, didn’t seem bothered much. He walked back against and reloaded the following delivery with ferocity, bowling a quick bumper at Ajinkya Rahane. There was no way Rahane could have managed to hit it, and the right-hander did the best to keep his gloves down and let the ball complete its journey to the wicketkeeper.

He finished the over giving away just one run from it.
