Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav scripted the most intriguing moment of the 2nd ODI against Australia at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata after he entered the cricketing history by claiming a hattrick; making him only the third Indian to do so. His bowling effort speeded up India’s victory process and eventually ended in a 50 run win that took the hosts 2-0 up in the series.
After being introduced in the 16th over, Kuldeep joined the list of elites when he removed Matthew Wade, Ashton Agar, and Pat Cummins off consecutive balls in the 33rd over to join Chetan Sharma and Kapil Dev in the elite list.
Kuldeep Yadav later described the memorable feat as “special” as it was achieved at Eden Gardens which is also his IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders’ home side.
IPL – The school of learning and fun
He has been a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the IPL after getting picked up for $66,000 in the 2014 auction. After waiting for two seasons as a ‘work in progress, he debuted in the 2016 season. In the entire season, he played only three matches but made a large impact in the last season picking up 12 wickets from 12 matches.
As we all know, IPL isn’t just about serious cricket. It incorporates the fun element to the entire scheme of things. During the 2016 season, in an interview for his club side, Kuldeep Yadav revealed some of his unknown secrets to the world.
He answered the questions candidly and told that he is a big fan of FC Barcelona football team and would rather watch football than cricket in his free time.
He also admitted his love for playing table tennis and watching movies.
But, the most amusing revelation from the youngster came to the fore when the host threw a tricky wrong’un at him. She enquired him about ‘one actress with whom he would like to be stranded on a beach.’ He did not shy and quickly gave a reply – Sri Lankan Miss World and Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez!
