Ganguly instilled a lot of pride in the team with his straightforward approach and tough mentality. A similar zest is being witnessed nowadays undoubtedly, and “Dada” is pleased about it.

A legend in making

The former India captain has praised Virat Kohli for his attitude and acknowledged the wealth of talent that he possesses.

The present Indian skipper has been on a record-breaking spree both as a batsman and as a leader.

“He is a master. He is ready for everything; he changes his game accordingly. At this format he is a remarkable player. I don’t know how many hundreds he’ll finish his career with but if he continues to play the same way he’ll score a lot of runs,” Ganguly said.

“Kohli is in complete control of this Indian team because of his performance. He stands up and delivers. He is a great example of the side, he is the best batsman in the team, and he commands respect in the dressing room,” Ganguly told India Today.

Challenges Ahead

So far, Kohli has led India to eight consecutive Test series victories. Also, the invincible sort of run in the limited overs format now has him just one win away from equalling his predecessor MS Dhoni’s tally to nine consecutive victories in ODIs.

Personally, he recently overshadowed Ricky Ponting by equalling his tally of 30 ODI centuries which is the second best only to Sachin Tendulkar.

But, that being said, Ganguly also pointed out the upcoming challenges that may test Kohli’s leadership as well as batting skills.

“His challenge will start. No many captains in Indian cricket who have lost at home. It’s very hard beating India in India. His legacy will be what he does in the next 15 months when goes to South Africa, England, and Australia. Those 12 Test matches will make Virat Kohli the greatest,” Ganguly said.
