India wrapped up the series in a thumping manner by defeating Australia by five wickets in the third One-Day International to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. Hardik Pandya once again starred with the bat, scoring a brilliant 78 to help the team win the game with utmost ease in the end.
Chasing 294, India went off to a dream start with Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane adding 139 runs for the first-wicket. The massive partnership was finally broken when Rohit was dismissed by Nathan Coulter-Nile. Rohit scored 70 and was soon joined by Ajinkya Rahane in the dressing room after the latter was trapped in front by Pat Cummins for 71.
Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya then added 56 runs for the third wicket to keep India well on course for an easy win, but the visitors clawed their way back in the game by dismissing Kohli and Kedar Jadhav in quick succession to reduce the hosts to 206 for 4. Australia could have piled more pressure on India, but Steve Smith could not manage to hold onto a tough catch from Pandya.
The miss turned out to be a costly one as Pandya along with Manish Pandey helped India to recover from those setbacks by adding 78 runs for the fifth wicket. The all-rounder scored 78 off 72 balls with the help of 5 fours and four sixes and was dismissed by Cummins when the team needed only 10. MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey then did the rest.
Earlier, comeback man Aaron Finch scored a brilliant 124 while Steve Smith contributes 63, but yet another middle-order collapse did not let them post the target they would have wanted. Steve Smith & Co. went off to a good start with Finch and Warner adding 70 runs for the first wicket. Finch and Smith then laid the platform for a big total by adding 154 runs for the second wicket. However, Finch’s dismissal triggered a middle-order collapse and as they were reduced to 260 for six from 243 for 2. Marcus Stoinis then played a handy knock of 27 to help the visitors post a good total.

A three-dimensional cricketer, young, Indian & marketable – Hardik Pandya is arguably the most valuable T20 player on the planet. #INDvAUS

Australia won the toss, where 220 odd for one, yet managed to find a way to lose. Winning is a habit they say, when not, such things happen

The mood in which Pandya is batting, I wont mind Smith bringing himself to the attack. Certainly a better option than bowling Agar at him.

Handscomb makes no runs and drops a (difficult) catch. Nice reminder that you should pick a specialist keeper #INDvAUS
