Every cricket aficionado knows that Indian master blaster Sachin Blaster Sachin Tendulkar owns the most number of centuries in Test cricket (51 tons). But only a few knew that he also owns the record for most number of fifties in the longest format of the game. The former Indian skipper has scored as many as 68 fifties in his test career that saw him play 200 Tests and 329 innings.
Sachin is closely followed by West Indies’ Shivnarine Chanderpaul, one of the world’s most underrated cricketer. Chanderpaul is just two fifties behind Sachin with 66 fifties along with 30 centuries in 280 innings he played for West Indies. The list also features yet another Indian Rahul Dravid, who takes the third spot with 63 fifties and 36 hundreds in 286 innings.
Australian duo of Allan Border and Ricky Ponting completes the list with 63 fifties and 62 fifties respectively. Border has the same number of fifties as Dravid but the latter is mention ahead in the list because of the number of hundreds between both the batsmen. Kallis has 45 tons and 61 fifties (a total of 103) while Border has a total of 90 50+ scores. Ponting, Dravid and Chanderpaul completes the list of batsmen with most 50+ scores.
