Manchester United are being forced to consider a €11.5million bid for their want away striker Javier Hernandez. According to reports in Italy, Serie A side Inter Milan have lodged a €11.5million for “Chicharito” with United settling for a fee closer to €15million.
Hernandez spend his last season on loan at Real Madrid. After making 31 appearances for the Los Blanco last season, the Mexican is keen to get regular first team football next season.
Mexico international Chicharito expressed his opinion where he said: “Yes, I want to stay in Madrid, but I also want to play a team I can play,”
“If I can play at Manchester United or another team, I’ll be happy.
“First-team football is my priority over anything else.”
Such words indeed mean that, the striker will be off in the summer as Louis Van Gaal considers Chicarito surplus to his needs. For United, it is all about getting the best value for the striker.
Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini is keen to add firepower to his side. Mauro Icardi was Serie A’s joint top scorer last season. With Icardi signing a long-term contract with the club, Mancini wants to bring another goal scorer to strengthen Inter’s squad.
Manchester United are yet to consider the offer put by Inter Milan, Van Gaal could be tempted to use Chicharito as the bait to lure long-term goal keeper target Samir Handanovic from Inter Milan.
With De Gea posed to leave Old Trafford next season, Handanovic is seen as the ideal man to replace to departing Spaniard.
Chicharito seems destined to leave Manchester United after scoring 59 goals in 154 appearances, but the manner of his exit is yet to be determined.
