The discarded Indian batsman Ambati Rayudu will lead the Hyderabad side in the upcoming season of Ranji Trophy. The 32-year-old player decided to switch his base to his native state from Vidarbha and was welcomed by the team with open arms. He was earlier given the duties to lead the team in Moin-ud-Dowlah gold cup tournament as well and selectors giving him the charge to leas the team in Ranji Trophy doesn’t come as a surprise.

Pragyan Ojha was not selected in the team as he is yet to receive an NOC by Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). In fact, Sourav Ganguly had denied the permission to Ojha to return to his native state, and from then, the left-arm spinner is yet to establish a contact with the state association. He was also not selected in the Bengal Ranji side for the first two games.

Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has too said that Ojha would only be selected when he will submit an NOC. Though the last date for transfer has already passed by a player is allowed to migrate to another state during the season as well. Same can be the case with Ojha but with him going away from the CAB; the chances of this event happening looks bleak.

The state association had already announced the appointment of J Arun Kumar as the Head Coach of the side for 2017/18 season. Hyderabad will face Maharashtra in their opening contest.
