He might be the most serious character on a cricket field, but it looks like Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a very soft and warm heart if the latest video of the former India skipper in his lawn with his dog is anything to go by.
In the latest video posted by his wife Sakshi on Instagram, Dhoni’s pet dog Sam could be seen mirroring his owner. The dog followed Dhoni’s movement for a while before the batting star became a bit restless and asked his pet to hug him.

Meanwhile, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has managed to silence his critics with his performances in the last two ODI series against Sri Lanka and Australia. The World Cup-winning skipper, who was under immense pressure to deliver, proved his worth not only with the bat but also with the wicketkeeping gloves.
The only captain to have won all the ICC tournaments so far, Dhoni was recently nominated by the BCCI for the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian award.
Recently, head coach Ravi Shastri had insisted Dhoni was still the number one wicketkeeper in the team before backing him to spring more surprises with the bat.
“If he keeps performing like that, how can you even think of anything else?,” Shastri had told India Today before the ODI series against Australia.
“He is one of the fittest guys in the team. As far as wicketkeeping goes, in one-day cricket, he’s the best and let me tell you there’ll be some surprises in store with the bat. You watch. I have a feeling there is something around the corner. In Sri Lanka, you might have just seen a trailer,” he had added.
