Shikhar Dhawan has been recalled to the T20 squad after he missed out the One Day Internationals to be with her ailing wife. Dhawan is looking forward to making up for the lost time in the One Day International by scoring big runs in the T20 series. Before going for the break, Dhawan was in sublime form. Shikhar Dhawan has been on a fantastic run off-late, starting from the Champion’s trophy and is in no mood to stop. Dhawan scored two centuries in the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka and then continued his form in the one-day series by scoring another century in the first ODI.

Dhawan was also the top scorer in the Champions Trophy. India has been on a fantastic run recently and are currently ranked number one in both One Day Internationals and Test matches. Dhawan has been a major factor in India’s success as he scored the bulk of the runs at the top of the order.
Dhawan believes that this recent success has been possible because of the bond that the current crop of players shares with each other. He also believes that the experience of sharing the dressing with established players in the IPL has helped the youngster’s confidence.
He said:
“The reason we are No.1 is because we have got good matured players in the side and the youngsters also are very confident. I believe sharing the dressing room with established players in the IPL has helped them gain confidence. The bench strength is also the reason that the Indian team is so good now. We have a very healthy competition in the side. Every player knows if he doesn’t perform there is another batsman who is as good as him, so that’s a very good sign and that keeps everyone on their toes. And I think our domestic structure is so good that we are producing such good players.”
