Manchester City have placed one last bid worth £40 million in a hope to sign Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling. Liverpool now have a tough choice to make of whether they want to keep the contract rebel at Anfield or cash-in on him.

Manchester City have made signing home-gown players their key target for the summer and Sterling tops their list. Ever Since Sterling’s contract stand-off began with Liverpool, City have been after the player’s signature.

Despite Liverpool’s reluctance, Man City started with a £30 million bid for the England International, only to be rejected immediately. Seeing Manchester City’s intent of buying Sterling, Liverpool eased off their stance on the player and put a £ 50 million valuation on the player.

Earlier today, Manchester City came back with an improved £35.5million offer which was also rejected by the Anfield club. Following that, City have now offered Liverpool their final £ 40 million bid for the young star, which Liverpool will most likely accept.

Key reason for Liverpool to push City towards the £40 million mark is because, the reds will have to pay the 20% of Sterling’s sale fee to his former club Queens Park Rangers. According to terms, Liverpool will be liable to pay a £8 million fee to QPR if they accept City’s final “Take it or Leave it”offer for Sterling.

Manchester City have now offered their last bid for Sterling as their £150 million squad revamp begins to take shape. According to reports, City have set aside £150 million to sign there marquee players including Paul Pogba, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.
