IND vs AUS 2017, 1st T20I: I Always Think About Wickets and That's What Really Matter - Kuldeep Yadav 1

When Kuldeep Yadav was handed the ball in the seventh over, Australia were 58 for two in just seven overs and more importantly their in-form opener Aaron Finch was still there, going great guns.

However, by the time Kuldeep ended his spell, the match was well inside India’s clutches. The chinaman spinner began the proceedings by conceding five runs in the first over before castling the big fish, Finch in his next over to put India firmly in command of the proceedings. In his second spell, the left-arm spinner sent back Moises Henriques to pile more misery on the visitors, as he finished his four-over spell with the impressive figure of 16 for two.

Australia could never recover from those setbacks and were reeling at 118 for eight in 18.4 overs before rain ended their innings.

India was given a revised target of 48 runs in six overs, and although they lost Rohit Sharma early in the chase, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan took them home without much of a fuss by sharing an unbeaten partnership of 38 runs.

Kuldeep deservedly got the Man of the Match award and expressed his delight over bagging his maiden award and spoke on his bowling plans.

“I’m very happy. My first Man of the Match. The first couple of balls I saw what he (Finch) was trying to do and set him up with an overpitched ball. I always think about wickets, and that’s what really matter to me and the team. I’m getting more confidence day by day and game. Performing well against a top side like Australia, I’m very happy for myself,” said the youngster at the presentation ceremony.
