After a thumping victory over India by 6 wickets in the second One day International at Mirpur, Bangladesh has sealed the Champions Trophy spot that will be held in England in 2017. It has been a great performance by the Bangladesh team who have been brilliant since the World Cup 2015. They have played some excellent cricket and have richly deserved the spot. They showed that Bangladesh are no mere pushovers and has to be taken seriously by the other teams around the world.

Earlier in the year, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan 3-0 in the home series and now have won the series against India 2-0 with a game to spare. Their team is looking more confident. In the World Cup 2015 they defeated England and knocked them out of the World Cup but lost in the quarter finals. Since then Bangladesh have played some aggressive cricket and selectors needed to applauded for this tremendous performance. All the players have contributed to their tremendous win. They have won 10 matches in a row at home and will be looking to whitewash India too when they face on the 24th June in a dead rubber. This performance by Bangladesh shows that they are improving big time in One day Internationals and are force to reckon with. This is big achievement for Bangladesh cricket to qualify for the prestigious tournament.

With Bangladesh winning the series against a strong Indian team this achievement will create a lot confidence in the Bangladesh. Their batting is looking strong and their bowling had made the Indian team struggle for their runs. Bangladesh has earned two more points and is on 93 points with West Indies on 88 and Pakistan on 87.

Bangladesh have done exceptionally well in the year 2015. This team is on the rise and if the teams do not take Bangladesh seriously they can really surprise anyone on their day the way the Bangladesh has played this series against a top team. Beating Pakistan 3-0 was a special thing and if they beat India 3-0 Bangladesh will create history by whitewashing two top teams.
