Discarded Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has become the latest victim of social media trolling after he posted the picture of his wife Geeta Basra, on the auspicious occasion of Karva Chauth which was thoroughly celebrated in the northern part of India on October 8.

During the interaction, Harbhajan shut the critics owing to his good demeanour.

“Happy karwa chaouth biwi @Geeta_Basra now khao piyo moaj karo I am sure badi bukh lagi hogi.” Harbhajan Singh had posted.

The cricketer was trolled for the Karva Chauth celebrations by the fanatics for what he hit back with his reasonable comments.’

The harsh responses didn’t upset the unwavering faith of Harbhajan, who has been known as a ‘Turbanator’ in the field of gentleman’s game.

“These are the fanatics, who are trying to dictate to people what they should do and wear. I just want to tell them that it is none of their business,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by TOI.

Harbhajan added the religious fanatics couldn’t teach him for the selective festivals to be celebrated.

“Whether we celebrate Holi, Diwali, Eid, Christmas or Karva Chauth. Sadly, fanatics of all religions have no life of their own and they want to teach us the meaning of life,” Harbhajan added.

However, Harbhajan, who has a great fan-following drew flak after positive responses from the Twitterati regarding his post.

At the time of filing this report, the post has witnessed 4.2k likes and 258 retweets.

As the Karva Chauth was celebrated with great fervour on Sunday, without wasting his time, the 37-year-old Punjab-born Harbhajan took to his official Twitter handle which further received huge criticism.

“Feeling sad to see a Punjabi is doing such a hypocrisy… It’s called hypocrisy according to Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji,” one of the twitter user Amrit Lohar asked Harbhajan in the threaded-post.

During the day-long festival, the married Hindu women pray for their husbands’ longevity, as they further endure a fasting from the sunrise and break the fast until moon makes the appearance on the same day.

The comments from social media users further revealed and asked Harbhajan whether he is a ‘Sikh’.

The overlooked senior campaigner was apt in replies when he was told the act of celebrating the festival is ‘anti-Sikh’.

However, Harbhajan, who has a great fan-following, drew flak after positive responses from the Twitterati.

At the time of filing this report, the post has witnessed 4.2k likes and 258 retweets.

With many coming in strong support of Harbhajan, the slow bowler, who missed out in the first fixture of Ranji Trophy 2017-18 for Punjab reiterated the first preference should be to become a good human.

“All religions teach the lesson of love,” Harbhajan concluded.

In 2015, Harbhajan tied a knot with Bollywood actress Basra in Jalandhar.
