India’s seven-match winning streak over Australia in T20 Internationals came to a meek end as the team from Down Under thrashed the hosts by eight wickets in the second match at Guwahati to go level in the three-match series.
Chasing a modest, Australia were off to a disastrous start once again with both of their openers returning to the pavilion cheaply. Jasprit Bumrah gave the hosts the much-needed early breakthrough by dismissing Warner with just 11 runs on the board. Two runs later, Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Finch too, but Australia’s decision to send Moises Henriques at number three turned out to be an inspired call as the all-rounder scored a brilliant fifty to take his team home with ease.
He was well supported by Travis Head who remained unbeaten on 48 as Australia kept the series alive.
Earlier, a four-wicket spell from left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff rocked India’s top-order as they managed to post only 118 runs on the board. Behrendorff accounted for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the very first overs before dismissing Manish Pandey and Shikhar Dhawan too to leave the hosts reeling at 27 for 4.

India losing means the last T20 is a decider- which means Virat won't experiment with the playing XI- which means no Nehraji 🙁#INDvAUS

Retards criticizing Dhoni forget that without Dhoni, India's score in this match would have been less by 13 runs

Watching Dhoni get stumped is like seeing your family doctor down with the flu. #INDvAUS

Dhoni playing T20Is is as pointless as Sachin continuing to play ODIs after the World Cup. Nothing to gain. Only delaying the handover.
