The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) had already confirmed the all-rounder would be undergoing the test soon and he appeared for it on Tuesday but failed to achieve the desired mark, which has not at all come as good news for him.
A failure in this test has now automatically ruled Yuvraj out of contention for the series against New Zealand, as this analysis is the first parameter for the players to clear before they get an entry in the Indian team.
It is the second time in three months that he had failed the test, as it was in August when he, along with Suresh Raina appeared for it and both of them flunked the test. Raina again appeared for it before the start of the Ranji season and he too, could not achieve the desired mark.

As per the report, Cheteshwar Pujara also appeared for the test along with Yuvraj, and he has cleared it with flying colours. Though Pujrara has still much time to play for India, as it is after one month when India will be playing a Test match.
Ravichandran Ashwin also appeared for it, and he had himself revealed on Twitter that he had passed the exam.
As reported yesterday, Yuvraj will now be playing Ranji Trophy game for Punjab against Vidarbha, starting on October 14. He might also lead the side in the absence of Harbhajan Singh.
