The ICC Player Ranking for ODI batsmen has observed a few big changes as England and Bangladesh batsmen played some influential innings on their respective series victory over New Zealand and India at home.

Bangladesh all rounder Shakib Al Hasan holds his numero uno position in Reliance ICC player ranking for  ODI all rounders after Bangladesh scripted his first historic series victory over India on Wednesday.

The prolific 28-year old Shakib scored 123 runs in three matches (52, 51 not out and 20) while also claimed three wickets for 99 runs to cap a fine allround display which also helped Bangladesh to seventh position in the Reliance ICC ODI Team Rankings.

India opener Shikhar Dhawan was the leading run-getter in the series and his 158 runs included scores of 30, 53 and 75, though kane Williamson’s productive performance in the other series mean that Dhawan dropped a palace to seventh, though he holds a sizable 43 point advantage over his captain MS Dhoni who is in eight place after scoring 121 runs in the series, including a highest score of 69. Suresh Raina has also improved his ranking by two places to 18th. Bnagladesh batsman Soumya Sarkar has vaulted 15 places to a career high 51 stafter scores of 54, 34 and 40 and other notable movers include Shakib up two places to 31st and Nassir Hossain (up three places to 38).

Meanwhile, following England’s thrilling 3-2 series victory over New Zealand which concluded earlier this week , a number of players on either side have made significant gains.

Williamson’s tally of 396 runs in the five matches (featuring scores of 93, 118, 90, 50 and 57) have seen the 24 year old Tauranga man move up one place to sixth in the Batting ranking and now lies just seven points behind Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan. Ross Taylor who anchored New Zealand’s two victories over England in the Royal London ODI series has moved up two places into ninth after scoring 375 runs. His score sheet of this series read like this – 119 not out, 110, 42, 47 and 17.

England’s Joe Root’s 274 runs, including two centuries and fifty, has seen the inform Yorkshire amn move up five places to 11th, while his team mate Jos Buttler has moved up nine places to 17th after  scoring 183 runs in four matches. However the stand-out performer with the bat for the host was inspirational captain Eion Morgan whose tally of 322 runs in the series (including three half –centuries and a top score of 113 in the fourth ODI) has helped vault him 15 places to 30th.
